mistic.al is run by Ryan Lancaster, trading as mistic.al (we, us, our). These terms are the agreement between you and us for your use of the app. By creating an account or using mistic.al you accept them, so please read them. You must be 18 or older to use mistic.al.
What mistic.al is
mistic.al offers a daily tarot-inspired reflection for wellbeing and entertainment. It is a prompt for thought and a gentle daily ritual. It does not tell the future and it does not give advice. Nothing it shows you is a prediction or a professional opinion, and you stay responsible for your own choices.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself and let us know if you think someone else has access. The information you give us should be accurate, and one account belongs to one person. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Using mistic.al fairly
Please use mistic.al only for its intended purpose and within the law. Do not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the app or to other people's accounts, do not scrape or copy it with automated tools, and do not upload content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing or that infringes someone else's rights. In the social features, treat other members with respect. We can remove content or limit accounts that break these rules.
Subscriptions and payments
Some features need a paid plan. Plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel, and payment is taken by our provider, Stripe. A free trial, where offered, asks for a payment method up front and becomes a paid plan when it ends unless you cancel before then. You can cancel at any time from your account, and your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. If we change a plan's price we will tell you in advance, and the new price applies to your next renewal.
Cancelling and refunds
As a UK consumer you have a legal right to change your mind about a digital subscription within 14 days. Because mistic.al gives you access straight away, that right ends once you have started using the paid features, though you can still cancel future renewals whenever you like. We do not give partial refunds for time already paid for, except where the law requires it. None of this affects your statutory rights.
Lune and items you unlock
Lune is an in-app balance you can earn or buy to unlock cosmetic card styles and oracle packs. Lune has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts. Purchases of Lune and items are final and are not refundable once made, except where the law requires it. Unlocked items give you a personal licence to use them inside mistic.al, and we may adjust, retire or replace Lune and items as the app develops.
Content and intellectual property
Anything you add, such as a caption, bio or avatar, stays yours. You give us permission to store and show it so we can run the features you use, and you confirm you have the right to share it. The app itself, including its text, card artwork and card styles, belongs to us or to our licensors and is provided to you under a personal, non-commercial licence. Please do not copy, resell or redistribute it.
How readings are generated
Your readings are generated automatically by an AI provider from the cards you draw and anything you choose to share. Because of how this works, readings can be imperfect, repeat themselves, or get things wrong, and they are meant for reflection rather than as fact. Always use your own judgement before acting on anything a reading suggests.
Suspension and closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which removes your data as described in our Privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other members at risk. If your account ends, your access ends with it, and any subscription is handled separately through Stripe.
Important limits
mistic.al is for wellbeing and entertainment. It is not medical, psychological, financial, legal or other professional advice, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are struggling or in danger, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. The app is provided as it is and as available, without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors.
Our responsibility to you
We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited under law. Beyond that, we are not responsible for loss that we could not reasonably foresee, or for the way you choose to act on a reading. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as mistic.al grows or as the law changes. If a change matters to you we will give reasonable notice, for example in the app or by email. Carrying on using mistic.al after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes can be heard by the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of any rules that cannot be set aside in your home nation.
